I am a Chinese-looking Filipino photographer in Beijing, China.
I am a photographer for an international school in Beijing. I am also Peter Carney‘s second photographer for events, assistant for shoots, and co-teacher for his Basic Photography workshop.
Yup, I am available for shoots! Contact email: grldncsn [at] gmail [dot] com.
Other than ranting about the extreme heat or extreme cold weather here in Beijing, I also maintain a “food blog” aptly named Cannot Cook, a blog about misadventures in cooking and recipes to prove it. Or, you can also check out my almost-defunct flickr page.

Thanks for stopping by, Vance! Definitely, let’s shoot soon!
I have a feeling you’re a neighbor close to Ditan Park? (Love the film images from Ditan btw).
Oh… I just saw your apartment complex post. So maybe we;re not neighbors. hehe
PS. Can’t comment on your blog as I’m asked to sign in!
Hi Geraldine!
Been missing you on Flickr so headed over here to see what you’ve been up to… :-)
Congratulations to making it pro!
Nice to see you are using Nikon now, he he…
I am a little jealous that you got to do your sports photography. I had a chance to do a couple shoots this summer at an athletics meet. Absolutely loved it and would like to do more, but not sure how to find them and get access. A Nikon quick tip I picked up if you don’t know it already (but maybe you know already), is to use the AF-ON button for focusing instead of the shutter. If you take continuous photos using shutter focus you half-press to track focus, but when after you release the shutter and let the button up it will stop focusing until you half press again. Keeping AF-ON pressed while taking your shots and in between then focus will track nevermind what you do with the shutter. Works a treat for sports and fast moving stuff.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Hi Dan!
Been MIA from Flickr, not really sure if I’d want to keep that one going.
Hey thanks, yes “pro” photographer now. Running around capturing all kinds of events. Thanks for the tip about Nikon. My gear (at work) is a D700, really good. I’m always at continuous tracking and most of the time I set my focus point somewhere in the frame (51 points!!) Is the AF-ON you’re talking about the button close to the upper right part of the camera? I’ve tried it but somehow didn’t quite get around how that works.
Also! The crazy SB800 keeps going off on my camera even if I’m not taking any photos, know any reason for that? I read it’s giving off “test flash” but then it’s quite annoying as it startles the crowd especially when I’m shooting in the dark.
Cheers Dan!
